ADITI SRIRAM

JFCTA Alumnus

BIO: Aditi is a fourth year student studying Economics in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC as a Scace Loran Scholar. She joined the JFCTA tennis league as a player at 10 years old. Later she became a youth coach and youth council member. She currently sits on the board with the Jane/Finch Community and Family Centre!

MY HOPES: Use the negativity often associated with our community as motivation to let the world know what Jane and Finch is really made of – resilient, kind and hard-working people. Whatever you choose to do, do it well and work to lift others up. Together, we will build a better tomorrow, one where the next generation will watch the news and see the Jane and Finch we are proud of.

BIO: George works for TD Canada Trust and is a graduate from York University. He joined the Jane/Finch Community Tennis Association as a participant when he was in grade 9. Since then, he has volunteered, coached and served on various committees with JFCTA.

MY HOPES: I hope that the program can grow and give kids more opportunities to play tennis and accomplish their goals. If the program can thrive, it will create many more alumni, and allow more participants to learn valuable life lessons.

She joined JFCTA as a participant at 14 and has taken on the positions of youth coach and head coach throughout the years. She currently sits on the JFCTA Programming Committee as Vice-Chair.

MY HOPES: I hope that JFCTA can continue to grow our organization and provide the youth in our community the opportunities and resources to accomplish their goals. At JFCTA, we use tennis as a foundation for improving health, fostering community relationships and developing life skills. These qualities have greatly shaped my leadership throughout my adolescence. I am looking forward to seeing the successes of our youth in the Jane and Finch community!
